Dianne Durant Rose

Dianne Durant Rose was born on March 5, 1964, to the late Dockus Dukes and Mary Lee Durant. Dianne was blessed with a warm and joyful spirit, and she truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Her laughter, conversations, and love for her family and friends created many special memories that will forever be treasured. Dianne was a hardworking and dedicated woman. She was employed by Lee County Correctional as a Correctional Officer and also devoted many years to caring for others. After 28 years of service as a caregiver, she retired, leaving behind a beautiful example of commitment, compassion, and service. Dianne knew how to enjoy life and make the most of every moment. She loved reading the Bible, traveling, laughing, and simply having a good time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed talking on the phone for hours with her two nieces, whom she affectionately called her twins, Jeanette and Annette. Whether she was sitting on the porch listening to music, enjoying her Mt. Dew soda and cigarettes, or sharing laughter and conversation with those she loved, Dianne found happiness in life's everyday moments. And then there was Prince, her beloved dog, who held an extra-special place in her heart. Dianne loved Prince dearly, and the companionship they shared brought her much joy. Those who knew Dianne will also remember the special words she would say before hanging up the phone or after talking with family and friends: “Love you, and have a good, blessed night.” Those simple words reflected the love in her heart and will now hold an even more special meaning for everyone who was blessed to hear them. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Dockus Dukes and Mary Lee Durant; her sister, Ruby Durant; and brothers, James Allen Durant, Michael Durant, and Ronnie Durant. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: a very special daughter, Quanecia Daniel Allen of Florence, SC; three sisters, Della Durant of Lamar, SC, Mary Lee (Ernest) Floyd of Lamar, SC, and Rose Marie Durant of Lamar, SC; five brothers, Lammie Durant of Newark, NJ; Frank (Brenda) Durant of Lamar, SC; Earl (Sherry) Durant of Dallas, Texas; Tommie Lee Jackson of Lamar, SC; and Willis Bruce of Newark, NJ; and a host of special aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. Dianne's life was filled with love, laughter, family, and many unforgettable moments. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the sound of her laughter, the memories of long conversations, and the love she freely shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. And as each day comes to a close, her familiar words will continue to bring comfort:
