Ricky Edwards

Mr. Ricky Edwards, the eldest of five children of his mother Mrs. Bertha Zenova Edwards-Ingram (deceased) and surviving father John Wesley Edwards Jr. Mr. Ricky Edwards was born December 13, 1957 in Florence, County. He entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 30, 2021, seventeen fifty-six in the afternoon at McLeod Hospice. As a youth, Ricky attended and graduated from Timmonsville High School in Timmonsville, SC. He continued his education by achieving his Associate degree in Criminal Justice. Ricky graduated from the Florence Police Department on May 30, 1979. He served 25 years within the police department. Ricky received many recognition and awards for outstanding dedication and service within the Florence county community. He retired May 31, 2004. Known as a hard worker, Ricky continued his service to the community and served 10 years as the Resource officer at his alma mater Timmonsville High School. Mr. Ricky is survived by his loving and devoted wife of forty-one years, Mrs. Marline Edwards, Timmonsville, SC; His beloved four children: Rickett Lamond Edwards, Marquita Lashonda Edwards, Desiree Corinthia Edwards, Deon Tiberius Edwards; loving grandchildren: Deja Cherrell Edwards, Xavier Jeremiah Edwards, Semiah Leraye Edwards, Brigette Noel Hightower; loving great grandchildren: Kayden Hosea Gibson, Kehlani Stefon Dolford; his loving parents: John Wesley Edwards Jr and Bertha Zenova (deceased) Edwards-Ingram. He is also survived by deeply loved and appreciated siblings: Dwayne K (Lucinda) Edwards, Lynchburg, SC, Veronica (Milton)Epps, Florence, SC, David Ingram Jr (Vajannise), Lynchburg, SC, Samantha Lowery (Tyrone), Lynchburg, SC; sisters-in-law: Virginia McCants, Sharlamar, FL; Leila Mcelveen( Leo), Florence, SC; Patrica (Gregory) Kennedy, Jacksonville, FL; Pamela (Michael) Peterson, Columbia, SC; Wanda(Ernest) Singleton, Florence, SC; Cynthia Hannah, Florence, SC; One loving brother-in-law Lee (Loddie) Dickey Jr, Virginia Beach, VA; Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including his fishing buddy Mr. Larry Drayton. Ricky touched many lives within his community and will forever live in all our hearts. In lieu of Flowers the family asks that memorials be made to American Heart Association and to the Cancer Society.
