Ronald Brand

The life of Ronald Gerard Brand began on June 29, 1970 in Paterson, New Jersey. Mr. Ronald Brand was the eldest son of Leron Jefferson and Burdia Jefferson. Ronald attended the Public Schools of Paterson, New Jersey. “Ron”, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. Ronald was well known for his love of the sport of football. Ronald played throughout his youth and had his most memorable moments while he attended John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson, NJ. Ronald played the defensive end position and accepted a football scholarship to the University of Connecticut. Ronald became a player of the UConn Huskies Football team. During his attendance at UCONN he was initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Nu Psi Chapter. Ronald loved his community and later returned to work at the high school he once attended. Years later Ronald moved to South Carolina where he furthered his education at Francis Marion University. Ronald started a career as a professional truck driving many years ago. “Driver” as he was affectionally called, by his friends and coworkers was a loving and caring man. Over the course of Ronald’s professional driving career, he worked for several different trucking companies driving all over the United States. Recently, Ronald was employed with ARD Trucking Company in Timmonsville, SC. Ronald will always be remembered for being giant in stature with a gentle demeanor. Ronald was kind, friendly, intelligent and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Leron Jefferson, mother, Burdia Jefferson, grandmother, Victoria Brand, grandfather, Moses Brand, grandmother, Rosie Lee Jefferson, aunt, Sarah Ann Mack, cousin, Daryle Mack. He exchanged his earthly life on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Ronald leaves to cherish his memories: his son Markeese Rashi Brand, Greenville, SC; stepchildren, Jasmine (Tavorous) Collins, Marion, SC, Quamine Kelley, Paterson, NJ, Kadeem (Tearra) Kelley, Marion, SC, Kasheefah Kelley, Marion, SC; grandchildren, Radiance Ameer Markell Hagood and Ja’Kylin Ramir Brand and step-grandchildren, siblings; Iris Edwards, Union Township, NJ, Tara Jefferson, Timmonsville, SC, Larry Jefferson, Darlington, SC and Leron “Fred” Jefferson Jr., Newark, NJ; a special cousin, Cheryl Mack, Douglasville, GA; friend, Darian (Latonne) James, Timmonsville, SC; uncles , aunts, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends. Ronald was significant in the lives of Tymir Johnson, Da’Quan Kelley, Qaniya Freeman, Quenasha Byrd, Queen Byrd, Malaysia Ellis and Maurice Ellis. He had a special relationship with Lakisha Freeman.
