Shirley McPherson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Shirley McPherson daughter of the late L. M. (Buddy) and Rosa Anderson McPherson was born December 9, 1935. She departed her earthly life on Thursday September 19, 2024, at Pee Dee Gardens and Memory Care. Shirley attended Florence County public school and graduated from Brockington High School. She attended Claflin University and after graduating she taught school in Georgia and later Florence School District 1 until retirement. She was also a member of Florence SCEA retired, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and member of Azalee Home and Garden Club. At an early age she was converted and became a member of New Haven United Methodist Church. She was the church Superintendent and Sunday school teacher. Also, she sung on the Senior Choir and served in different organizations until her health declined. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Sam, and two sisters Gussie and Daries McGill. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her niece and nephews, Alvin (Shirley) McPherson of Columbus, GA , Demetrius (Victor) McPherson of Alabama, Sherry McPherson of Brooklyn, NY, Betty McGill, Quincy McGill, Larry McGill, Bobby McGill, Lilar McGill of North Carolina, Tabalon Pettigrew, Myra, Kayla, and Rayquan Hodges of Timmonsville; A special cousin McDouglas (Cynthia) Wilson and the Wilson family; other relatives and many dear friends.
