Sylvia Peoples McFadden

Sylvia Peoples McFadden, daughter of the late Casey (Sarah Johnson) Peoples, was born on February 12, 1942, in the Cartersville Community of Florence County, South Carolina. She received her heavenly wings on February 5, 2025, at the age of 82. Sylvia received her education in Florence County Schools and graduated from Johnson High School. She was employed as the Cafeteria Manager in the Timmonsville Educational System until her retirement. Sylvia married the love of her life, Willie McFadden, in 1958 and they celebrated their 66th Anniversary in 2024. Sylvia loved her church and was a lifelong member of New Haven where she served as Communion Stewardess, member of the Women of Faith, President of the Senior Choir, Usher, Children and Youth Coordinator, but her greatest gift was her love for singing praises to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she accepted in her teen years. She had a special gift of compassion for anyone in her presence and she was the ultimate giver. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her son Demetre McFadden; her brothers, Casey, Jr., Mack (M.L.), and Curtis; her sisters, Ruby Jean (John) Durant, Sarah Ann Poe, and Loretta Xanthos. Those who cherish her precious memory include her husband, Willie McFadden, Sons Edward (Denise), Timothy (Sherry), Darrell (Natalie), and Michel (Pearlie): Sisters, Gloria Washington, Annette (Marvin) Graham, and Jennette (Henry) Davis; Grandchildren: Neferteria (Roy), Akida (Rashad), Angelica, Danielle (Jornique), Tia, Edward “Ric”(Ariel), Terrence, Torey, DeAndre, Bryan, Vamiya, Tamias (Deneda) and Anna Shivers; Great-grandchildren: Zyon, Brice, Mason, Madison, Taylor, Brookelyn, Amaryn, Julvonie and L’Dymond; Brothers-in-law: Randolph, Charles, Henry, Thomas (Lillie), Andrew (Luretha) and Sisters-in-law: Martha Peoples, Laura Peoples, Janie (Manley) Sumler, Susie(James) Preston, Sylvia (Clarence) Alston, and Jennette (John) Fletcher; Goddaughter, Cynthia Deas, many Nephews, Nieces, other dear family and friends, and great neighbors, Henry and Patricia Nero. The family is receiving friends at 1681 Timmons Road, Timmonsville, SC from 3-8 PM.
