A Symphony of Sight and Sound Christopher Floyd, Jr., affectionately known to those who loved him as "CJ" or "Tiny," peacefully departed his earthly life on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at his home in Florence, South Carolina. Born on September 27, 1986, in Darlington, South Carolina, he was the cherished son of Christopher Floyd, Sr. and Ruby McNeil. Though his time with us was far too brief, the beautiful art he created through music and photography will resonate in our hearts forever. A Foundation of Faith, Rhythm, and Vision From an early age, Christopher's life was deeply rooted in faith, rhythm, and a unique creative vision. He was baptized and joined Round-O Baptist Church, growing up under the spiritual guidance of Pastor Michael McMillian. It was within the walls of the church that Christopher's extraordinary musical gifts flourished. Whether he was beating the drums, playing the saxophone, or lifting his voice in the choir, he used his talents to praise God and bring joy to the congregation. He was educated in the Darlington County School District, graduating from Darlington High School in 2004. As a proud member of the award-winning Marching Falcon Band, under the leadership of Mr. Ernest Stackhouse, Christopher's artistic passions only grew. Alongside his deep connection to music, Christopher developed a profound love for photography. He had a rare gift for seeing the beauty in the world around him, capturing unforgettable moments, emotions, and memories through the lens of his camera. Higher Education and Brotherhood Following graduation, Christopher took his talents to South Carolina State University, where he proudly marched with the historic Marching 101. It was during his time at SCSU that he found a lifelong brotherhood by joining the Zeta Lambda Chapter of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. Driven by a lifelong desire to master his creative crafts, he later attended Full Sail University, earning an Associate Degree in General Studies. True to his resilient spirit and passion, he was actively pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Music Production, constantly working to blend his love for sound and visual storytelling into a lasting legacy. A Beautiful Love and Family In 2008, Christopher married the absolute love of his life, Tanesha Rouse. Together, they built a beautiful life grounded in devotion, shared dreams, and a household filled with art and love. From their blessed union came three beautiful children: Christopher ("Tré"), Isaiah James, and Jael De'Avionne. While their hearts were broken when their precious son, Tré, preceded Christopher in death in 2010, the family finds immense comfort knowing that father and son are now peacefully reunited in eternity. Christopher was the ultimate family man—a devoted and loving husband, a protective and proud father, and a deeply loyal son and brother. He poured his heart into his family, always documenting their happiest moments through his photography, ensuring that their love was frozen in time forever. Cherished Memories He leaves behind a legacy of love, rhythm, and beautiful memories to be cherished by his devoted wife, Tanesha; his beloved children; three loving goddaughters, A'Vianne Cannon (Charles), Peyton Alford, and Kamille Abraham; his loving parents, Christopher Floyd, Sr. (Holly) and Ruby McNeil; his devoted brothers, Brandon Floyd (Nicole) of Willingboro, NJ, and Aaron Floyd (Syetta) of Columbia, SC; his loving sister, Shanika Graham (Lonnie) of Effingham, SC; his caring mother-in-law, Jacqueline Rouse; his supportive sisters-in-law, Wilandra Gee (Justin) and Jocelyn Rouse; his brother-in-law, Jeremiah Rouse; his dear grandmother, Lucille McNeil; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, lifelong friends, and his cherished Brothers of Iota Phi Theta. Christopher's life was a beautiful masterpiece of music, imagery, and love. Though his camera is still and the music has paused on this earth, the brilliant images he captured and the melodies he made will play on forever in the lives of everyone he touched.
