Patricia McFadden

Patricia McFadden, a native of Timmonsville, SC, was born on February 2, 1962, to the late Edith Mae Cooper Butler and the late Robert Wright. She peacefully entered eternal rest in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 4, 2025, at MUSC Florence, surrounded by her family. She was a beautiful soul who always greeted others with a smile. Patricia had a courageous and strong-willed heart that cared for others selflessly. She exemplified the character traits of her mother, which were reflected in the way she put her life on hold to take care of her mother. She was educated in Darlington and Florence County, graduating with the class of 1980 from Timmonsville High School and attending Morris College afterwards. In 1984, Patricia married her high school sweetheart, the late Titus "Tiggs" McFadden. To this union, three children were born: Tavarus, Dwayne, and Latiesha. For several years, Patricia was an extraordinary seamstress at Pee Dee Apparel and Klear-Knit Mfg., In 2002, Patricia became certified as a Patient Care Technician and was employed with McLeod Medical Center until her spouse's health declined. Tricia, as she was affectionately called, was a lifetime member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Timmonsville SC, where she served on the Usher Board. She found joy in simple pleasures. She truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was the glue that held the family together and remained a soft place for her children, family and friends even while facing health challenges. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents: Edith Mae Cooper Butler and Robert Wright, her husband, Tiggs McFadden; two sisters: Ms. Gloria Ann Butler and Mrs. Marvella Butler Flemimg, and one son Mr. Tavarus McFadden. Left to cherish her loving memories are: Dwayne (Demikia) McFadden of Timmonsville, SC; Latiesha McFadden of Florence, SC; one brother, Larry (Sharon) Butler of Somerset, NJ; Francenia (William) Battiste of Timmonsville, SC; in-laws: Peter Flemings of Spartanburg, SC, Julia (Woodrow) Bines, Mack (Faye) MeFadden, Terry (Shawanda) McFadden and Darlene McFadden of Timmonsville, SC, four grandchildren: Kelshira McCullough, Ahmari Samuel, Dwayne McFadden, Jr., and Roetrell McFadden. A special niece Pamela Butler, a cherished family member Jonita Adams, special friends: Fannie Mae Kerson, Queen Coe, Randolph Johnson, and Lois Storrs-Hudson; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
