Rosa McAllister Green

Rosa Ann McAllister Green was born on May 21, 1947 in Florence, South Carolina to the late David and Ethel Frierson McAllister. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, South Carolina. Rosa attended the public schools of Florence County and graduated from Wilson High School. She continued her education at Francis Marion University formerly known as Francis Marion College. Rosa accepted Christ at an early age at mount Tabor Baptist in Evergreen, South Carolina. On February 24, 1966 Rosa married the love of her life James Green, in 1982, they were blessed with four beautiful children, Christopher, Eric, Teresa and Victoria. She later joined the Church of Christ. Rosa enjoyed taking care of people she was very passionate about her family her community and so much more. She loved gardening, cooking and baking for all that asked of her. Rosa was formerly employed with the Florence County School system for 14 years, McLeod Health and Fitness Center CDC for 12 years, and a Foster Parent who later adopted one of her fosters. Rosa was also a caregiver for many families in Florence County and the surrounding areas. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents David and Ethel, her husband James, two brothers, two sisters, son, daughter and a grandson. Rosa leaves to cherish her precious memories: three children, Christopher Edward (April) Scott of Barnesville, Georgia, Teresa Michelle (Artrese) Adams of Honolulu, Hawaii and Benjamin Robert Green of Timmonsville, South Carolina; three sisters, Dorothy Vaughn of Evergreen, South Carolina, Elease Burgess of Florence, South Carolina and Dorothy Jo (Jerome) Edwards of Timmonsville, South Carolina; one brother John L. McAllister of Timmonsville, South Carolina; a daughter-in-law Lakisha Scott of Effingham, South Carolina; son-in-law, Ardwin Howard Timmonsville, South Carolina; sister-in-law Mary Emma Green of Timmonsville SC; brothers-in-law Mannie Lee Jackson of Miami FL, Nathan Holloway of Timmonsville, SC and Ned (Annie) Green, Jr. of Timmonsville, South Carolina ; a special nephew with whom she had as very unique relationship with for many years James Gordon; Rosa also built a very special bond and relationship with so many, but these stood out and never showed a wavering side, Alice Daniels of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Joyce Connor of Washington, D.C., Shirley Knight of Columbia, South Carolina, a special dear friend Kenneth Duboise of Darlington, South Carolina and Michelle Leslie of Pamplico, South Carolina; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
