Tommy Lee Goodman

MR. TOMMY LEE GOODMAN, age 70, was the son of the late Mr. Cornelius Goodman Sr. and Mrs. Carrie Burgess Goodman was born April 23, 1952, in the St. John Community of Sumter County. He entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Morrell Nursing Center in Hartsville, South Carolina. Tommy received his formal education in the public schools of Sumter County. Tommy was a dedicated employee of CL Benton & Sons where he worked as the head Construction Foreman, driving from Timmonsville to Myrtle Beach daily for over 27 years up until his health begin to fail in 2012. “Wink” as he was affectionately called, was known for his love of fishing, barbequing skills, shooting pool, spoiling his grandkids, and spending time with family and friends. TOMMY was joined in holy matrimony to his late wife Emma Louise Goodman in August 1976. TOMMY was preceded in death by his parents Cornelius Goodman Sr., and Carrie Burgess Goodman, his wife Emma L. Goodman, his grandmother Ethel Burgess, mother-in-law, Jannie Simmons Hammonds, father-in-law Richard Simmons, three brothers: Cornelius “Smokey” Goodman Jr., Will “Shug” Goodman, and Isiah “Bay” Goodman”, one sister, Lula Mae Hardy, and one sister-in-law Willie Mae Barksdale. He leaves to cherish his fondest memories: his beloved children, Toshia (Demetric) Gandy of Timmonsville, SC, Kecia Robinson, John (Brenda) Schenk Jr. and Chucky (Christina) Schenk all from Florence, SC ; his sister, Sylvia “Juanita” Goodman of Olanta, SC; two aunts, Mary Burgess of Mount Vermon, NY, Sharon Hall, of Miami, FL; two uncles, Charlton Burgess (Miami, FL) and Donald Burgess of Atlanta, GA; twelve grandchildren, Kenya (Paul) Bacote, Kevin (Chiquetta) Hampton, Jason Hampton, Daphanie Schenk, James (Silisha)Robinson, Cedrick Gandy, Sha’Kira Goodman, Khylee Gandy, Kierra Schenk, Kharlee Gandy, Monica Schenk, and DeAnna Schenk; eight great-grandchildren: Elijah Smith, Marquavis Bacote, Peyton McKitchen, Riley Robinson, Hayden Hampton, Marquise Bacote, Caiden Gandy, and Raegan Tedder; a special cousin, Bernard Goodman ; a host of other dear relatives and loving friends.
